May 2024  Highlights & News

Our May Highlights are showcasing three rare & unique museum grade artifacts relating to the Third Reich. These include a fine SA chained dagger with special Reichsfuhrerschule chains, presented to Alfred Richter, one of the heads of the Reichsfuhrerschule. Our second highlight is the Heer General visor cap worn by the Commander of the Russian Liberation Army, General Mikhail Meandrov. Our last Highlight for May is a superb Allgemeine-SS tunic for an SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer with SS-Standarte ‘7’ Plauen.

Starting our May Highlights is a possibly unique SA chained dagger made by thr Solingen firm of Christianswerk, and presented to SA Gruppenfuhrer Alfred Richter, one of the heads of the Reichsfuhrerschule. This fabulous dagger bears special chains which feature the Reichsfuhrerschule arrow, along with a personal dedication to Richter engraved to the top scabbard mount. This magnificent museum grade dagger is a part of the extensive Newton Collection of Holbein style daggers, which we will be disposing of in various phases.

Secondly we offer the actual Heer General visor cap originally belonging to the commander of the Russian Liberation Army, Heer General Mikhail Meandrov. The  detail of this general rank visor cap is different from that worn by regular Heer generals. This has golden upper pipings, and then red pipings. It also has a Russian style large rosette / cockade rather than the familiar oakleaves & cockade. An incredible museum quality historical artifact with provenance.

The last Highlight for May is an Allgemeine-SS tunic for the rank of SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer with SS-Standarte ‘7’ Plauen. This high quality tailor made tunic, has a superb set of ceremonial aiguilettes. Although un-named, this tunic is attributed to SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Bachmann, who is shown as being in charge of SS-Standarte ‘7’ during the 1930s.

We now have Phase 1 of the Newton Holbein Dagger Collection for sale, which includes an incredible array of presentation engraved and  rare maker SA & NSKK daggers. See right of the drop down menu, Collections For Sale then scroll for Newton SA & NSKK daggers Phase 1.

Other items worthy of special mention include various  signed documents including a rare Himmler signed document, which has been counter-signed by Heydrich, along with an actual photo postcard of the Braunes Haus signed by Heydrich. Additionally, there is a good consignment of military and civil daggers, which has been recently added to the site, along with a small collection of SS daggers. Other items include a rare example of the Luftwaffe Feldgendarmerie gorget, and a very pleasing Nuremberg desk eagle/swastika.

We have had several consignments of Imperial German items, so please check those categories. These include an Imperial German Flyers goblet group, a Fliegertruppe uniform from the second phase of the Reimers Collection, and a good untouched Bavarian other ranks pickelhaube from the Baldwin Collection, and extensively photographed  within volume 3 of his series of books.

Do have a look at the second phase of the Grant Reimers Collection, which includes Imperial & Third Reich German armed services (see ‘Collections for Sale’). Known to many advanced collectors throughout the world, the Reimers collection has been built up over the last forty years, and many items were acquired direct from serviceman. There is also the third phase of the Douglas Pratt Collection of porcelain and glass (see Collections for sale’). Primarily containing Allach porcelain, there are some real 'gems' in this collection.

Our section devoted to rare collectors books, including many Bender Published titles, is worth a look as well, with a fair number of rare to find books added recently. Additionally we have now added a new category under books, entitled – Third Reich Research Material. There will be a mixture of research books, photographs and archive files available, as we start to populate this category.

To those with an interest in all things relating to military clocks & watches, the long-awaited final volume of our German Military Timepiece publications has been completed. The final volume devoted to the Luftwaffe is now in stock, and is listed within our German Military Books category.
